Tree preservation order (TPO) applications completed free of charge

During your no obligation tree surgery quote, we will fully explain the procedure we use to check for tree preservation orders (TPOs) and the difference between these and conservation area restrictions.

On your acceptance of our quotation, you will have peace of mind that we will complete all of the necessary checks, free of charge and prior to any tree surgery work commencing, even if you believe your trees not to be protected.

Where we find your trees are covered by a tree preservation order or conservation area restriction, we will inform you immediately, explaining the requirement to submit an application. We will then complete and submit your application to your local council’s Tree Officer and/or Planning Department on your behalf, free of charge.¹

Subject to obtaining the appropriate permissions, all works are carried out to British Standard 3998 (Recommendations for Tree Work), a requirement of all local authorities as part of any approved applications.

Where there may be risk of damage to people or properties, due to tree failure or tree root activity, tree risk assessment surveys and reports can support tree preservation order (TPO) applications.

In order to assist you with your TPO application, we work closely with trusted Arboricultural Consultancy, Rowbotton’s, and may refer you to them to ensure you have the right CAS accredited, expert advice, as required.

Arboricultural consultancy assessments and reports may also be required for tree related issues that involve planning applications, home buyers insurance, TPO appeals or objections, or where there are concerns regarding a planning application close to your trees.
